Combining astrodynamics and systems engineering to enable wider, bolder, and sustainable exploration of our solar system
At Space Systems Lab, our mission is to expand humanity's understanding of the solar system by pushing the boundaries of space mission engineering—and to harness that knowledge for the betterment of life on Earth.
We are currently focused on developing high-fidelity trajectory solutions and cost-effective exploration concepts and systems. We divide our efforts between modeling-computational and experimental work. By integrating modern systems engineering practices with advanced dynamics and optimization techniques, we aim to create mission design tools that deliver practical, actionable solutions. These insights drive innovation in critical spacecraft systems.
Our work centers on building and advancing small-scale spacecraft platforms with versatile capabilities, enabling meaningful impact across a wide range of mission scenarios.
We design innovative mission architectures to increase accessibility of unexplored and challenging planetary regions
We develop high-fidelity end-to-end mission design tools that combine complex dynamical models with systems knowledge
We build and test exploration systems to enable exploration of challenging planetary regions
